Hawl just think about himself but Sophy hide herself and doesn't say her real thinking.
Accidently, they met and live togeather. They spend time togeather, they get in love each other.
When they know loving someone, their mind and activity are getting to change.
They know responsibility, role, the meaning of lives and of oneselves.

I wish anybody who watch this movie would not see it as a story of a witch but
his/her own matter. Thus, it's not about people around you or your ability but
how you yourself can hold your will which enables you to change things.
1. Simplicity of heart
In the movie, a witch cast a spell on Sophie and made her into a 90-year-old woman with
deeply wrinkled face. In fact, the spell may be the one which visualize one's inner state.
Before meeting Hawl, Sophie was not living her own life. She was giving it up and lived
like old woman with no strength, no hope, no will, no self-respect, nor confidence. Yet,
as she met Hawl and unique friends around him, she started to live again.
You will find some scenes that Sophie unconsciously backs to herself for a while
including while she sleeps. That is the sign that Sophie was recovering the simplicity of heart.
2. the work to "live"
Hawl was trying hard to stop the wars by magic and fighting against the power but at the same time he was running away from his responsibility to "live". When he finally had his heart back, he suddenly felt his body so heavy and shout, "Oh, I feel like my body's turned to stone!" Sophie hugs him and quietly answers him, "Yes, heart is heavy"
This may be the most beautiful scene of this movie. Hawl with his heart, he has to live as a human
again. Heart is heavy because life is such a great work with a heavy responsibility. However, when we embrace this work, we'll find hope and sense of compito through it. Plus, Hawl now has great
friends who would walk besides him.
